How to Use the myLearning Layouts Tool

This tool is designed to help you build practical lesson plans quickly and effectively using a library of learning design patterns. Here’s how to use its features:
1. Explore the Pattern Library
On the left side of the screen, you'll find the Pattern Library. Each "pattern" is a pre-designed micro-learning activity based on a specific learning type.

- Filter by Activity: Use the colorful filter buttons at the top to narrow down patterns by their activity type (e.g., Content, Discussion, Practice). This helps you find specific types of interactions to include in your lesson.
- Search by Keyword: Use the search bar to find patterns by name or description.
2. Build Your Lesson Sequence
The center panel is your canvas for building the lesson. To create a sequence, simply click the "Add" button on any pattern in the library.
- Reorder Steps: Drag and drop the steps in your sequence to change their order.

- Customize Content: Click on a step to expand it. Here you can provide a mandatory Custom Title and fill in any other fields with your own content, instructions, or questions.

3. Balance Your Activities
Just above your sequence, you'll see a legend of the seven activity types. As you add patterns, a counter will appear next to each activity, showing you the mix of learning types in your lesson. Aim for a balanced sequence that provides multiple ways for learners to connect with the material.

4. Finalize and Export
Once your sequence is complete and all steps have a custom title, you can export your work.
- Preview: See what your final lesson will look like.

- Copy Code: Copy the clean HTML code to your clipboard, ready to be pasted into your learning management system.
- Download: Save an HTML file of your lesson to your computer.
